Press Release

Grant Thornton strengthens advisory services for owner-managers and families

Robert Gregersen will lead the newly established Family Service, enhancing Grant Thornton’s advisory offering for owner-managers, families, and individuals with complex wealth and ownership structures.

Grant Thornton is expanding its advisory services with the launch of Family Service – a specialized tax advisory unit focused on owner-managers, families, and clients with intricate financial and ownership arrangements.

Robert Gregersen joins as Tax Director and will be responsible for developing this area further, bringing together expertise in succession planning, personal tax strategy, business transfers, and long-term wealth management.

Experienced advisor with 25 years of expertise serving high-net-worth clients

Robert Gregersen joins Grant Thornton from Jyske Bank’s Executive Wealth Management & Family Office, where he spent more than 20 years advising owner-managers and private clients – including some of Denmark’s most prominent families – on complex wealth management, tax, succession planning, and long-term financial strategy.

He now brings this extensive experience to Grant Thornton, where he will work alongside the tax team to advise and represent the firm’s clients.

The advisory services cover succession planning, business transfers, personal tax strategy, pension matters, corporate structures, and other strategic decisions that arise when business, family, and personal finances are closely linked.

Family Service consolidates existing expertise into a dedicated unit

Grant Thornton has a long history of advising on wealth management, personal tax, and complex ownership structures. With the creation of Family Service, these advisory services are now brought together in a dedicated business unit with an even sharper focus.

According to Ebbe Melchior, Partner and Head of Tax at Grant Thornton, the ambition is to enhance the client experience and bring specialized expertise together under one roof:

– We have advised clients for many years on personal taxation, succession planning, complex ownership structures, and other wealth-related matters. What’s new is that we are now consolidating these services into a more specialized setup, enabling us to deliver even greater value to clients whose needs span business, family, and personal finances.

– With Robert on board, we gain a highly skilled professional with many years of experience in this field. This gives us a strong foundation to further develop our services in the coming years.

Robert Gregersen sees a growing need for holistic financial advice:

– Many clients find their financial affairs become increasingly complex as their businesses, investments, and personal finances evolve. This creates a need for advice that considers the bigger picture, rather than isolated decisions. That’s the approach I look forward to strengthening at Grant Thornton.
