The New Danish Holidays Act in Practical Terms

On 25 January 2018, the Danish Parliament (“Folketinget”) passed a new holidays act valid from 1 September 2020. Among other things, the act is changed to comply with EU’s work time directive with the right to four weeks’ paid holiday to be earned and taken within 12 months. 

Even though the new holidays act is not valid until 1 September 2020, there are things already to be observed when booking the company’s holiday allowances.
