Further expansion in the archipelago
Grant Thornton has agreed to a strategic alliance with PT GNV Consulting Services (GNV), increasing the strength and capabilities of Grant Thornton in Indonesia. GNV brings expertise in tax advisory services, which they provide for a range of public, family owned and international clients across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, mining and oil & gas.
The firm will continue to be led by Johanna Gani, as Grant Thornton Indonesia's managing partner, and will employ 160 people including 12 partners.
Ed Nusbaum, Grant Thornton global CEO, said, “This is an exciting development, particularly for our Indonesian clients. We welcome GNV to the Grant Thornton global network, where they will join more than 35,000 people in over 120 countries working together to help dynamic organisations unlock their potential for growth,”
“Asia is a major region that we have a growing presence in. The strengthening of the Grant Thornton presence in Indonesia is an indicator of our strong momentum in key growth markets. ”
Johanna Gani said, “Grant Thornton has a strong track record in Indonesia working with the country’s leading state-owned enterprises and multi-industry dynamic organisations. This alliance will be core to our continued success.
Indonesia is rich in natural resources and is a major centre for investment because of its ranking as Southeast Asia’s largest economy with a forecast of 6.3% economic growth for 2013 according to the World Bank. ”
Grant Thornton was named International Accounting Bulletin’s Global Network of the Year, largely based on leading the major global accounting organisations with growth of 10.4%, as well as strong thought leadership in the profession on critical global accounting issues such as lease accounting, revenue recognition, EU auditor reform, corporate governance and improving the auditor’s report.
